Raw Power Calibration

The Raw power calibration is used in order to take into account the driver gain and cables losses and compute an approximation of the power at the input plan of the DUT without any optimization. Is it a more accurate alternative compared to the Driver Amplifier methodology, as the Raw Power Calibration will calibrate a power offset value for each calibrated frequency.
Note: During the Scalar Calibration, IQSTAR performs automatically a Raw Power Calibration.

To start a new Raw Power Calibration, select one vectorial calibration and click on the Raw Power Calibration button. The software will verify communication with each instrument needed and will configure it using the settings previously defined.

To determine the real power offset over the frequency range, set the start and stop sweep powers.

IQSTAR will start a power sweep (example above : from 2 dBm to 22 dBm with a step power=1dB) for each frequency. Then IQSTAR will extract the power offset value for each frequency corresponding to the average value of the input gain block over the power sweep .

Once the calibration has been completed, the offset power is automatically set in the calibration file.

Quick checks can be performed to verify the accuracy of this calibration using Validate calibration button. To learn more see Validate Calibration.

Note: During the 3. Measurement, select the RAW power (calibrated) type in the sweep settings in order to use this calibrated offset power.
