3-Tones Measurement Panel : Sweep Settings

Sweep setting is used to define two, three or four nested loops sweep in function of power, frequency and tones spacing using different acquisition mode.

Acquisition Mode:

  • Delta per Power : For each power, perform the delta sweep.

Those sweep settings are very similar as in 1-Tone measurements (Acquisition mode:).

Fequency Sweep Settings:

The 3 Tones signal can be represented spectrally as 3 individual tones, set by a specific frequency and a specific power:

  • Frequency sweep:

This list should contain the central frequency of the signal. It is limited to a single value as the current standard is one measurement file per frequency.

  • Delta sweep:
    • Delta value: is the spacing between the delta spectral lines. Use icon to modify the list of delta sweep

  • Allow frequency interpolation: if the list of RF stimulus frequencies is different from the calibrated one, IQSTAR will interpolate the errors terms

Power Sweep Settings

  • Type: the power sweep can be of different types:
    • Raw power:
Note: If Driver Amplifier is defined in the schematic, the power defined will take into account the driver amplifier offset set in the schematic.
    • Raw power (calibrated): Total raw power calibrated. Available if the Raw Power Calibration has been performed. There is no optimization but the power is offsetted from the Raw Power Calibration coefficients
    • Available input power: Optimizes the f0 available input power to the desired level.
    • Delivered input power: Optimizes the f0 delivred input power to the desired level.
    • Output power: Optimizes the f0 output power to the desired level.
  • Central frequency power sweep (dBm): This defines the main power sweep, related to the center frequency f0.
  • Same power on all tones: If selected, all the tones will be generated at the same power level.
  • Specify different powers for delta tones: If selected, the delta tones will be set to a different power than the central frequency tone, at the same level.
  • Specify different powers for each tone: If selected, the delta tones can be configured to have an individual power list.
  • Minimum delta power control: Used to limit the power of the delta tones. The delta tones power will be clipped to the specified minimum power if found bellow this value.
Note: The central frequency power sweep is the main sweep, it can contain one or multiple values.
Note: The delta tones frequency list(s) can be set either in dBm or in dBc (referenced to the central frequency power)
Note: The delta tones frequency list must contain the same number of points than the central frequency list, or only one value. If there is one value, it will be repeated for each central frequency power point.
