Getting started with Device Modeler
- HPA device
  - Extract U-HF model
    How to extract Unilateral High Frequency memory (U-HF) model for High Power Amplifier (HPA). The HPA-U-HF model is the simplest nonlinear amplifier model. Extracting this model requires little information about the component, i.e. 1-tone CW measurements, performed on a nominal load impedance. It therefore takes into account only the dispersive effects present in the amplifier band and ignores other memory effects such as those due to polarization or heating. Hence, it is suitable for applications processing signals with quasi-constant envelope (frequency modulation), radar (frequency translation or slow amplitude variation, low duty cycle). This model does not take into account load impedance changes.
  - Extract B-HF model
    How to extract Bilateral High Frequency memory (B-HF) model for High Power Amplifier (HPA). The HPA-B-HF model has the same properties as the HPA-U-HF model for frequency dispersion. It therefore takes into account only the dispersive effects present in the amplifier band and ignores other memory effects such as those due to polarization or heating. On the other hand, it makes it possible to take into account the changes in load and source impedance.
  - Extract U-HFLF model
    How to extract Unilateral High and Low Frequency memory (U-HFLF) model for High Power Amplifier (HPA). The HPA-U-HFLF model is the most complete unilateral amplifier model. It brings together the strengths of HPA-U-HF and HPA-U-LF models and eliminates their limitations. This model makes it possible to represent quite faithfully both long-term memory effects (polarization, thermal, trap) and short-term memory effects. This model is therefore suitable for almost all applications (narrowband, wideband, variable envelope, radar). Like HPA-U-HF and HPA-U-LF model, it does not allow for changes in load impedances.
  - Extract B-HFLF model
    How to extract Bilateral High and Low Frequency memory (B-HFLF) model for High Power Amplifier (HPA). The HPA-B-HFLF model is the most complete biilateral amplifier model. It brings together the strengths of HPA-U-HFLF and HPA-B-HF models and eliminates their limitations. This model makes it possible to represent quite faithfully both long-term memory effects (polarization, thermal, trap) and short-term memory effects. This model is therefore suitable for almost all applications (narrowband, wideband, variable envelope, radar). On the other hand, it makes it possible to take into account the changes in load and source impedance. .
  - Extract B-HFTH model
    How to extract Bilateral High Frequency memory Thermal (B-HFTH) model for High Power Amplifier (HPA). The HPA-B-HFTH model provides an excellent representation of the effects of self-heating and HF frequency dispersion. However, it ignores memory effects due to polarization. On the other hand, it makes it possible to take into account the changes in load and source impedance.

  This tutorial presents a feature that enables automatic configuration of schematics in System Architect for testing HPA and LNA models. The user will be able to run pre-configured simulations to test the model with 2-tone signals, a 5G signal and possibly load-pull simulations. This feature is available for all HPA models and LNA-B-HF model.
