Small-signal stability analysis

The Frequency response about a DC solution of a circuit can be obtained as explained in the follwing steps.

Using the stan_ac template presents below, the frequency response can be computed.
Figure: ADS Template for a small-signal stability analysis

  1. Introduce the circuit appropriately biased in the template
  2. Connect the perturbation source to a sensitive node of the circuit
  3. Select the frequency sweep (initial frequency, final frequency and number of points). The frequency resolution (number of points) can be modified by the user, taking into account the dynamics of his system, in order to have a transfer function sufficiently well sampled.
  4. Launch the AC simulation
  5. Once the simulation is finished, the data display "STAN_display" template appears. The table containing magnitude and phase of the transfer function will be exported and the file will be later read by STAN Tool.
