In order to develop RF and microwave power circuits, AMCAD Engineering provides to OEMs and foundries nonlinear electro thermal models of power transistors.
Sometimes, the modeling step can be seen as an additional cost in the design process. But a closer look at the numbers reveals that costs are much higher when the circuit design process includes poor quality models, because it often leads to iterative design flow.
AMCAD Engineering provides two main families of measurement-based models:
• Time domain phenomenological models (Electrical equivalent scheme)
• Frequency domain behavioural models (Multi-Harmonic Volterra,)
For simulation in nonlinear operating conditions, time-domain electrical equivalent schemes are well suited, especially when strong nonlinearities or complex parasitic phenomena such as low frequency memory effects have to be taken into account.
